CD Review
"The closest I can get to a reference point for
readers for this band would have to be like a slightly
less intense style than Rollins Band, perhaps slightly
influenced by bands like Alice In Chains, with some
cool metal riffs, and a great production technique
used here which brings out the exceptional percussion
section. Certainly you should take the time to check
this out if your into the heavier stuff."

"Sweat streaming down naked chests, bodies crushed
in the mosh pit, crowd surfing and just hangin' out
having a damn good time sets the atmosphere for Brown
Sox. Where's my daughter? Hell, she's gone to the
Brown Sox gig! Wait for me daughter of mine. Brown
Sox must be a mixer’s nightmare. I can imagine the
beads of sweat running down the mixer’s brow. Give
him another beer and sedative guys! No I'm sure you'd
get a real buzz from a Brown Sox gig."

"New Orleans, Louisiana based BROWN SOX is a
band that is not afraid to venture down the musical
avenues less traveled, openly embracing change and
experimenting for the sake of humanity. Their “patented”
show props and psych”O”delic extreme drums capture
a mood of originality. Guitar oriented. Catchy hooks.
Slammin’ grooves. Wistful vocals. Refreshing, Alternative
Hard Rock or “Altermetarocadelic” as they call it
with a 21st Century Dark Metal Edge."

Brown Sox combine sludgy, psychedelic metal with surprisingly
accessible hooks. Just when you think tracks are destined
to devolve into demonic grind core, tempos switch
from dirge to hardcore, rhythms shift from slashing
to 4/4 and melodies surface through the sludge. Brown
Sox isn’t the heaviest local metal band, but they
may be the most expansive.
